Cabins
There are five cabins in Camp Sertoma and eight in Camp Hope. Each
cabin is filled with campers of the same general age group. Through
out the week, each cabin functions as a unit: doing activities
together and fostering cabin spirit.
Flag Raising
Each morning at 7:45,
each camp has their flag raising. Some active
wake up songs are sung to get the blood pumping and each morning a
different cabin group has the thought for the day. The group with
the thought also gets to raise the flag and pick a
patriotic song
for the everyone to sing.
Meals
Three meals are served each day in Kresge dinning hall. Both camps eat
together. Hope Cabins sit together with their counselors, while Sertoma
campers spread out with one counselor at each table. Meals are served
family style. Special meals: fried chicken every Sunday, pizza on
Thursdays, cook outs on special occasions (ex: 4th of July)
Clean Cabin
After breakfast each morning, each cabin group cleans their cabin.
During the morning activity periods, the head counselors judge each
cabin's cleanliness and leave a score sheet. At lunch, the "Clean
Cabin Award" is presented each day.
