Each cabin group camps out one night during the week. The group goes
to Pioneering during one of their afternoon activity periods and learns
camp out safety and some basic fire safety. The campers who don't have
sleeping bags borrow them then. Next, the campers load their food and
supplies onto either a truck (Hope) or a pontoon boat (Sertoma).
The Hope campershike to their camp sites while the Sertoma campers canoe. When
the Sertoma campers arrive at their sites, they can choose to swim in
the lake for awhile. Then, in both camps, a fire is built and dinner
is cooked over the fire. Everyone helps to get the meal ready. After dinner,
everyone relaxes and roasts marshmellows. Hope campers sleep in shelters
white Sertoma campers sleep under a tarp. In the morning, breakfast is
cooked over the fire and campers head back into camp in time for the next
day's activities.
